I became interested in photography when I was quite young. In 1963 my parents bought an Argus model C-4 and I watched how they took pictures with it and when I was 7 or 8 I started experimenting with it with their help. About the same time my older brother took a photography course in high school and I remember him using a Yashica and a hand held light meter.

I remember wanting a camera of my own so when I was 12 my parents bought me a Kodak Pocket Instamatic 100. After I wore that one out (I literally wore it out so the film wouldn’t advance anymore) I saved up as much money as a 16 year old could and bought myself a Canon Canonet QL17 GIII Rangefinder 35mm w/45mm f1.7 Lens. I felt like I was in with the big boyz.

I used it for a few years and then sold it to a friend, after awhile I bought it back again, used it for quite a few more years. After my son was born in 1986 I purchased a used Olympus OM-10 SLR from a friend and sold the Canon to my younger brother. Looking back on it now I wish I would have kept it, but oh well.

I used the Olympus OM-10 for a couple of years and then started doing weddings and portraits for friends. I eventually bought a new Olympus OM-2s Program and a winder, since then I’ve acquired a used Olympus OM-1n, another OM-10, 2 Pentax/Asahi K-1000’s, a Pentax ME Super and a Pentax ZX-M. Along with the cameras I have a wide assortment of lenses, flashes and filters. I’m always checking pawn shops, yard sales and the classified ads for good used equipment as I’ve kind’a started a small collection.

I’m a retired over the road truck driver and I enjoy traveling with my wife in our RV when we can. This affords me the opportunity to get photos of many different areas and subjects. I do have an Olympus Digital camera but my true love is 35mm so most of my stuff is on film. As I get my photos scanned into the computer and converted I’ll be posting more on my blog.

I hope you will return and visit often. Feel free to leave a comment or just say “Hi”.
